Abstract:

Pericervical dentin (PCD) is a critical structural region of the tooth that exhibits an important role in stress distribution and fracture resistance. During endodontic treatment, its preservation should not be overlooked, as its integrity determines the strength of endodontically treated teeth. When PCD preservation is impossible, adhesive and fiber-reinforced materials may provide great reinforcement by improving stress distribution and restoring fracture resistance.
